Journalism Pathway
The journalism pathway is an exciting and fast-paced introduction into the highly competitive field of journalism.  This pathway will give you a chance to work in an upbeat environment where you will learn hands-on how to produce quality news elements such as The Davis Dart (print and online edition), and D-TV (Davis Television) for the students of Davis High School.

Marketing Pathway
The Marketing Pathway in the Davis Business School provides a snap shot of several areas of the business world.  From Purple Cow (where you will learn the basics of marketing) to You, Inc. (which covers opening and operating a small business) to Leadership in the Movies (all leadership all the time) you will get a feel for the variety of opportunities available in the areas Marketing and Business.

Students completing the Marketing Pathway may choose to pursue additional education at specialized, two-year, or four-year schools.  Degrees in Marketing, Management, Administration, Public Relations, and Communication are a few of the options.

Pathway completers may also enter the workforce with a competitive advantage because of their understanding of how business works and their unique experiences gained through participation in davisDECA and The Davis Marketing Group.

The “capstone” course—Beyond the Purple Cow, provides a college-like experience as students select and complete a research-based project.  While the topics vary from year to year, they typically require the involvement with individuals from the business community—therefore providing students with a mentor and an introduction to networking.  These projects are often entered in state and international marketing competitions.
